MidState Etiquette
UPDATES & GYM RULES & ETIQUETTE OVERVIEW
We want to come up with some simple guidelines to best reflect our gym culture and allow us to foster a fun, safe, clean, and respectful environment for everyone in our community. This is not every rule nor is it intended to be. What we want to do is create a safe, courteous, and respectful environment for others and our equipment.
In addition to the below comments we wanted to share that this is the last week of 630AM and the return of 330PM. We hope this will help alleviate some of the classroom congestion in the afternoon.
COMMUNITY FIRST
Give us your feedback. We want to hear from members and coaches about the good and bad. The only way to get better or to know there is a problem is in a culture of open communication.
Be welcoming! There is no such thing as a new kid on the block. Please introduce yourself… help individuals get acquainted with our community. Always lean on the MidState mission statement because often the actionable way to live the mission statement is to be kind and inviting.
No one is left behind. Cheer on our friends!
SAFETY
The class always comes first. If an athlete wants to train extra, please use the additional training area at the lifting platforms or in the “Kids” room. If equipment becomes sparse know that the coach may ask the extra trainee to give up what or where you may be training to accommodate the current classroom participants.
Be present for the White Board Briefs and for when coaching demonstrations occur.
Stay unplugged. No headphones on the gym floor during class. If we have a music change request we will absolutely oblige. Individuals often can get desensitized to what actually is going on the gym floor. The truth is at any moment there is really heavy objects being lifted, dropped, swung, and thrown. Watching where one is going and listening to what is going on around you is essential to create a safe and effective classroom environment.
We love all our kids and CrossFit Kids but want them to be safe. Children are not allowed on the equipment at any time, and must be off the gym floor during classes.
Please control your barbell at any weight when moving it. Please do not drop lightweight barbells from overhead.
If you are injured or not feeling 100% please tell a coach before the workout. Scaling and modified movement is highly recommended even when not dealing with the natural aches and pains of life. Train smart and listen to your body.
CLEANING
We want you to continue to use all cleaning products provided. Covid still exists and we want to remain conscious of that fact. Though class sizes are now being more realistically accounted for we do not want us to take our guard down regarding cleanliness.
Please clean up all metal equipment touched, sweat, blood, any bodily fluid. Wipe down equipment but do not directly spray display screens.
Please wait until the end of class to grab the spray bottles and towel. If you’d like to clean before using equipment feel free to do so but return the towel and solution to the perimeter to better keep the floor clear for equipment.
Bags, water bottle, and all personal items please place along the perimeter of class to better keep the floor clear for equipment.
Zen Planner
Please pre-register for class with Zen Planner. In real time if a class is large we are able to double schedule coaches and put the best possible staffing out there. Help us, help you!
