Fathers, Mothers, & MidState
This Father’s Day has given me the opportunity to reflect on what we are doing here at MidState CrossFit. Many of us are parents and those who are not parents have embraced this idea of family, community, and betterment. The genesis of MidState has always been about building up ourselves, so that by being our best selves, we can better serve those around us. This reveals itself every day in little interactions with the kids of MidState. Kids seeing their parents exercising and embracing functional human movement as a lifestyle will have a profound impact. It shows this next generation what it is like to interact with peers in a supportive atmosphere. Seeing adults playing and laughing and having fun allows them to emulate those action in their own lives. Now, we know sometimes the kids can be rambunctious and that sometimes they can be a distraction but having them near us is how we want to navigate this world. Being a parent is about building a safe, loving, and motivating lifestyle for our kin. MidState CrossFit is about optimizing those end goals and living our best lives in the pursuit of better. So thank you, thank you for being the example, thank you for being a mentor, thank you for doing the little things right everyday and showing the way forward for all of us at MidState CrossFit.
Happy Father’s and belated Mother’s Day MidState CrossFit.
