A Look Back & WOD

A Full Month Of Competition

This past month, MidState CrossFit and the broader CrossFit community have been in competition mode. Starting on February 19th, we had the MidState Games. The programming was one of the most inclusive we have ever had and because it was inclusive we saw some really incredible moments. We will keep this trend going next year! We hope to have even more participation next year and do not forget about the MidState Lift Off this fall. The way time is going, it will be here before you know it.

Directly following our celebration of fitness, the CrossFit Open began. We did not hype it up enough, in our opinion. CrossFit Home Office did an equally incredible job of creating workouts that challenge people but allowed them to thrive. The three divisions of Rx, Scaled, and Foundations along with workouts that test engine and effort were a nice test for most CrossFit athletes. Of course, the fittest of us all have risen to the top. By Monday night we will know if any MidState members have moved on to the next stage. Coach Dan and “The People’s Champion” Frankie, and our beloved Kate have a real chance on moving forward to the Quarter Finals.

In regards to competition, MidState has always had a reputation of the non-competitive gym. The place where CrossFit is done the right way. Where stimulus is preserved and changes can be made to any workout at the individual level. Scaling and changing workouts is both an art and a science. Get with your coach and come up with a plan so that you are working out with the class and also getting the most out of your efforts where ever you are in the fitness journey. We strive to make your hour at MidState CrossFit the best hour of your day.
