Reflecting On The MidState Lift Off 2022
Taking a moment of reflection,
It was a crazy week at MidState CrossFit to celebrate our 8 year anniversary. The MidState CrossFit Lift Off was a success beyond our wildest dreams. Our members embraced the Color War with so much enthusiasm and pride. It created an atmosphere of family fun, friendly competition, and testing of fitness that was so energetic, magic was in the air.
The whole week was one large intangible moment. Memories that were formed during our 4 day festival will live on in our collective memory forever. The actions we have taken as individuals are assuredly going to result in lifelong health and a lifestyle of unimaginable potential. We are so incredibly thankful that our athletes have embraced the vision we set out for them. We see all of you, we see your potential. The process of being fit has a beginning, and it has a middle, but it never stops. Keep embracing the workout of the day and life becomes so much fun because you are physically prepared, mentally tough, and you have a support system in MidState CrossFit.
MidState CrossFit is a gymnasium, a box in CrossFit terms. It is a place where we use hard work to build health and wellness. Health can be measured in so many ways, one of those ways is to include meaningful relationships. “According to the Dunbar theory, the tightest circle has just five people – loved ones. That's followed by successive layers of 15 (good friends), 50 (friends), 150 (meaningful contacts)”. Our 97 participants in the Lift Off is not so far off that number, meaning when we come together like we did yesterday, we are living in the sweet spot of the human experience.
Being aware of our choices can be profound. This is why people journal, meditate, and jump into cold water to breathe. This is why we come together for regular events to build community. This is why we advocate for habit formation associated with attendance and not motivation. It is essential to have a why and to follow through on those convictions.
Team Blue and Team Gold, you crushed it! In 6 months, we will be hosting the MidState Games 2023 so remember your color and be ready for a rematch. We rejoin as one now because being together allows us to be better to ourselves, the box, and our community. Cheers to another year of #MidStateOhana.
Thank you,
Brian & Gabby
