Gabby Boucher, MAcc,

CF-L1, PN-L1, CrossFit Kids, CPT.

Gabby is the CEO of MidState CrossFit. The cook in the kitchen, she is our primary programmer both for adults and kids programs,. Running a tight ship from the back of the house. Her passions can be found in how she treats her family, friends, and community. Her years of gymnastics and team sports allows her to have a refined coaches eye and thrives in the one on one setting both as a nutritional coach and gymnastics specialist. She leads by example and is inconstant pursuit of happiness, health, and balance.

Erin Lodwick,

Erin is the Mama Bear of MidState CrossFit. The OG leader of our community and matriarch of the Lodwick tribe. She is regularly the reason why MidState CrossFit thrives as a box. Like many of the coaches of MidState CrossFit her entrepreneurial spirit has her as owner and operator of Impressions Screen Printing. Erin is a jack of all trades, who is an excellent CF-L2 trainer, friend, and supportive pillar to all who she comes in contact with.

Daniel Mast, CF-L3.

Dan has been coaching at Midstate Crossfit since 2018. Dan works as a Flight Paramedic for CalStar and has been a Flight Medic in the military for 12+ years. Dan loves CrossFit and has been doing it for over a decade. An utter badass and also the nicest guy you’ll ever meet. His reputation proceeds him and is known as “Hero Mast” in some circles. Dan and Brian have a healthy rivalry during the CrossFit Open and is the best training partner. If you are looking to level up your skills find him at Open Gym and get ready to train smart, work hard, and thrive.

Fernando Ortiz,

CF-L2. CF-Gymnastics.

Coach Fernando is a fan favorite. Fernando has a passion for learning as well as the art and science of coaching. Fernando is a steadfast professional who takes the craft, art, and science of coaching to heart. While not on the floor working on his craft you can find him being a passionate and loving family man. The energy it takes to have a happy household is the same as what it takes to cultivate and excellent classroom and it shows in how his athletes respond during his classes.

Kate Samuelson,
CF-L1.

Kate is one of greatest success stories coming out of the CF Kids program. Having started as a Cub and moving up to Bears, when she entered our Teen division, she signed up for the internship program while waiting to be old enough to be an official coach. For several years she has been the assistant coach for the kids program and in 2022 she successfully passed CF-L1 at the age of 17. Incredible!

Early in life she was diagnosed with PANDAS (Pediatric Autoimmune Neuropsychiatric Disorder Associated with Streptococcal infections) and hopes to be a source of inspiration to those families and kids who need a success story in their lives.

There is not a brighter spot in MidState CrossFit than young Kate and we are stoked to have her on our team.

Rick Marchini, CF-L2.

Rick found CrossFit in 2011 and like many of us he was looking for an alternative to the traditional gym. It took a couple of months of watching videos and trying to make sense of the workouts before he stepped through the doors.

After years of crushing WODs and winning the MidState Games multiple times we finally convinced him to become a trainer in 2019. He is a stoic coach with sound knowledge and a calm demeanor on the main floor. Be ready to get knowledge bombs when he’s the coach.

When not at MidState CF you can find him being a family man to his lovely wife and two beautiful daughter. Yet another renaissance man on our staff Rick is a lawyer, a talented golfer, ski bro, he cooks, cleans, and plays guitar.

Total package.

Lori Gonzales,
CF-L2.

Lori, she is a legend in her own time. She embraces CrossFit as a way of being prepared for her job as a law enforcement officer. Along with her CF-L2, she is also an educator for the first responder community, which includes being the AOST (advanced officer safety technique) instructor for the office. She teaches arrest and control and grappling technique. She is regularly in the top 10% of strongest CrossFitters in the world.

It is her mentality toward life that really sets her apart. A family first mentality, she helps brings joy to the lives of the people around her. We are incredibly proud of her and what she does both inside and outside the box.

Jon-Mag,

CF-OL1.

Jon-Mag is a classic CrossFit success story having found CrossFit in 2020 he has experienced every part of the MidState CrossFit story arc. From an immature squat to full depth. From athlete to intern to coach. His story includes weight loss, growth into new found community, and adaptation between the ears. When Jon is not at the gym he finds time to serve his community as a firefighter, work at his craft as a BBQ master, and lives the entrepreneurial lifestyle as the owner and operator of Pool Fresh INC. Find Coach Jon at most afternoon classes and events.

Matt McClellan,
DPT, CF-L2.

Matt is our loving, smart, kind, passionate, funny guy who runs one hell of a good CrossFit class. We can not tell you this enough, he is a genius of human movement. Not only is he a blessing to have on our coaching staff but he is also the owner of Cali Performance also located inside of MidState CrossFit.

Health is a combination of good habits and luck and if you need any additional help from the dings and bangs of life Matt should be the first person you think of.
